Do arquivo para a mesa: Doçaria
This edition brings together, in the form of cooking cards, 12 pastry recipes from the 17th century, extracted from manuscripts written by the nuns of the Convent of the Remedies and the Monastery of St. Martin of Tibães, in Braga. Margarida Araújo baked all the sweets from the original recipes and ingredients listed in the expenses records of that period, allowing to rediscover sweets that had been lost in time. The cards show, on one side, the manuscript pages, and the back is layed out in the pragmatic style of a cookbook, emphasizing, through this option, both the documentary nature of the project and its practical use. The background color makes reference to the yellowing of the original papers. New volumes of this series, dedicated to other parts of the meal, will be published in the future.
